How Live Chat Lead Me to the Love of My Life

Believe me when I tell you that meeting the man of my dreams was a notion I had given up on after my second divorce. Meeting and falling in love on the Internet? Oh Please! Only tragic losers who were socially disabled or outright liars were pulling this one off. My disdain for people who "fell in love" online could not be measured with existing technology.
A few months ago, I joined a forum specifically for people who work online, as I do. I had ideas I wanted to share and I wanted to pick the brains of others in order to enhance my own experiences working on a particular freelance site. I posted a comment in reply to the topic of a thread that interested me, and also asked an innocent question. A rather wordy and somewhat rude chap answered my post. I didn't know anyone yet in this forum and it's not always easy to discern when reading messages online, what the mood or personality of the writers are at first. He seemed like he had a slight chip on his shoulder, but I could tell he was very intelligent and well spoken. I decided to give him the benefit of the doubt.
I also pulled a feminine wile. I posted a picture of myself. I know a little bit about psychology, as I have a degree in nursing. I know for instance, that it's much harder to be rude or standoffish to a person online when his or her face is smiling out at you. It's also a statistical fact that attractive people get more breaks in life than those less appealing. I was two for two! It worked like a charm.
Before I knew it, we had become fast friends. Over the next few months I began to notice a change in myself. I missed this man when we didn't talk or chat online, even if it was only for a short while. I thought about him when I was running errands, or out with friends. I've been single a very long time, by choice. Love didn't interest me. I liked my life. It was uncomplicated and I lived it on my terms.

The climate was changing in a most peculiar way and I was afraid of the possibilities. Then one night when we were chatting online as we had done hundreds of times, it became crystal clear to both of us that there was more to us than casual friendship. We were so similar, that it was like looking into our own reflections. We are attractive, intelligent and wise. We have the same interests. We even think alike so often that we constantly type in the exact same thought at the same time. I've never had something like this with another human being. It's almost uncanny, even frightening. But there it is and I wasn't about to miss out on the single most important relationship of my life.
I'm grateful for the opportunity to know this amazing man. And I owe my happiness now in part, to the wonder invention we all know as the World Wide Web. Without it, I would never have met the love of my life! I would recommend those Chat Rooms and the likes as an option for searching love, it may actually work.
