people often use alcohol to do things they would like to do anyway.

So if a person wants to cheat, they can drink, as a mean to justify it to themselves and others

'well, I was drunk'.

they can say, that it wasn't them but the alcohol.

some see it as a get out of jail free card when it comes to cheating.

Some will do it to lower their inhibitions so that they can do the things they want to without thinking about it.
Others don't need it to lower their inhibitions, they do it so that they have it as a last ditch effort excuse for what they did in case they get caught

Its not a good reason and its not a good excuse.

What is means is that being drunk got you around to doing something you wanted to do anyway.

never a good reason to cheat, if you want to cheat, then get out of the relation. You are not with the person to hurt them.

being drunk impairs your decision making...simply put...to them they think its ok...because theyve "escaped from their own reality"

Getting caught cheating + saying it's OK because "I was drunk" = a very good reason to get dumped.

That'll be one cent, please :)

Is it OK to lie when drunk?

same answer applies.

I have less issue with a sexual mishap, (safely done) than I do someone lying. But than again, I subscribe to open relationships and swingers lifestyle. So maybe I am not the average frame of reference.

Good Luck,
James

It is not an excuse to cheat, but it is an explanation. Along with that explanation, should come a ton of apologies and promises that it will not happen again.

A reason to cheat = Yes
A reason to get away with cheating = No

Even if you are at a party with Megan Fox, or Edwin Cullin for the ladies, that doesn't mean you should grab some liquor and head to the bedroom. If you are in a relationship that should be what you do with your lover, instead of cheating on him, call or text him when you really want to be sexually pleasured. He / She would happily come please you than to have you run off in another direction.

Young(er) adults often have the misconception that this is okay. My mind set is that- you should not be with that person if you have any feelings of wanting someone else. Kissing, flirting, emotionally cheating, physically cheating, it is all wrong. No exceptions.

If your ex has cheated on you, there's no point to dwindle away your life and return the favor. Simply move on and leave them behind.

Best regards,
ArtistBBoy

Nothings ever a good reason to cheat, Ever! Cheating is disgusting, If you're not happy - get out. Pretty obvious solution to me. It's a huge p*ss off to have someone do anything stupid drunk, Then say "Well I was drunk". If you people can't control what they do when they're drinking, Some people just shouldn't drink.

there are no reasons for cheating what so ever!
if you re not happy in this relationship just say so and we could end it right away!
even if there are kids involved ending things on good terms is way better than ending things with cheating on the table!

Is being drunk an excuse? hell no.. he knew what he was doing! if he was too drunk, believe me he wouldn't even do it cause he wouldn't be able to Do It. he's drunk isn't he?!

when a person wants to cheat he/she just wants to cheat, because they can! they re aware of what they re doing and they just wanna do it because they re horny and want sex!

so its simple as that.. he cheated. doesn't matter how ,why, when or with who ..he just did!

it's an excuse some people use but it's not a good reason. you shouldnt even put yourself in that situation. it's a copout. a lot of people get drunk and use that as an excuse for doing something they know they wanted to do in the first place.

no being drunk isn't a reason to cheat. I had a one night stand that I regretted. I excused it by saying I was drunk but its the only time its happend in all the times I've been drunk. it happened because I was horny and just wanted sex! I did regret it but I was still glad I did it in a weird way. I wanted an ego boost. I knew exactly where the whole thing was headed. Being drunk just gave me the opportunity to break free of my inhibitions and be wild and act out my fantasies. So no being drunk isn't a reason to cheat. He clearly wanted to cheat anyway, like I clearly wanted to have sex the time I had a one night stand. You shouldnt put up with it. Sober or drunk its all the same. Like in fairness I was pretty drunk but I still remembered sleeping with the guy the day after. for me it was more dutch courage. the drink gave me the courage to do something I wanted to do but was too scared to do.

cheating is cheating, no matter what the circumstances are.

As in...im drunk, ahhh may as well cheat the?.No its not a reason.
Being in an unhappy r.ship, being selfish, not having any will power,yaddayadda...those might be reasons.
It is an EXCUSE? If someone was drunk whilst they cheated they might try it,sure.
Does it wash? Nope.

REASON for cheating=you should of left the r.ship, lets keep it simple.
