Does every girl keep a "back-up" guy?

Alright, it is a shallow way of life, but if your hurt it is nice to know there is a guy out there who likes you even though you don't like him.

Back up guy come naturally, some guys will just be there begging to go out with me, honestly one boy right now who is really cute, is panting after me. He loves me, his parents, love me, and so does the rest of his family (all have hinted at us getting married). My family likes him( they said get married out loud). But I don't, yet at the same time, it seems like the perfect guy, except he is lacking in intelligence. I don't like it, but I find myself toying with the idea that I could have him anyway I wanted. It would be so easy, but what it comes down to is do I need that confidence boost or can I choose a moral path. The funniest thing is that he has a girlfriend and if I lead on he would drop her in a second.

So a girl has to give herself rules if she doesn't want a back up guy. Or at least doesn't want to use them. You have to let go of them, so they can move on, but a lot of girls hold tight to that "at least someone out there likes me"

Back up guy, if the person she's in a relationship now, breaks up with her or they break it off, then she has her ex, to fall back on. [ pretty much using her ex ] in a way. Hard to explain. I know I don't have a back up guy. I'm a one guy girl & I think it's wrong to do that to someone. But everyone's different. I know girl's that are very insecure about their relationship's & have " back up " guys but, honestly it's a wrong thing to do to someone. & guys shouldn't have back up girls. If you really like someone you shouldn't be worried about someone breaking it off with you, or whatever but everyone has different states of thoughts on relationships, and a lot of people to messed up things. But it's life, maybe you should talk to her about it, and tell her its wrong because she may hurt her ex.

Ugh. That's sort of ugly and desperate and insecure. If I'm with a guy I genuinely like and think genuinely likes me, I don't look elsewhere or consider other possibilities. Keeping back ups sounds like she's not too interested in the current relationship, has no faith in the current relationship, or can't stand to be alone. You don't want to be the guy she's dating or the back up. If she liked the back up better, she'd break off her relationship. If she was happy with her boyfriend she wouldn't need the back up. I honestly think a girl with a back up is confused and insecure. I wouldn't want a guy with one. Yuck.

Short and sweet: If all else fails, that's who she will be seeing/sleeping with if a current partner doesn't work out. I'm guessing she has a lot of baggage and very insecure with herself. She's obviously afraid of being alone. It's a very unhealthy way to think.
