There is this girl I like in my class. I'm pretty sure she's interested in me too. But the thing is, we're both shy so we didn't talk until the last day in class. On the last day of class, I decided to talk to her and we talk for about 10 mins about random stuff. Finally I actually ask for her number so we can hang out. WHen I ask for her number, she said yes at first response then changes things around. She said "actually let me have your email instead" During our talk, I can see that she seems interested in me. But I was so nervous that I seem to be "stiff" and awkward while talking. Can my shyness turn her off at the last minute? What does it mean when a girl ask for your email instead of giving her your number?

Update: Is she still interested? or have I screwed up my only chance? what's going on    4 months ago

Your first question "Can my shyness turn her off at the last minute?" No! Definitely not. If you were always shy around her chances are that's one of the things she likes about you, especially if she's shy too - she probably finds it cute. Maybe she just chose to give you her email instead because she's a little too nervous. Or maybe she just wants to get to know you a little more first - you did say this was the first time you spoke to eachother? I'd say it's a good bet she just prefers to take it a little more slowly instead of giving her number out to someone she hardly knows yet.

If she's really shy, she might just prefer email. Or maybe she's going to change her cell. Or maybe she doesn't have a cell and her parents interrogate her if a guy calls. Who knows? If she likes you, you haven't screwed up; don't worry. :)
