Over a month ago now this guy and I held hands on the way back from a trip (and he pulled me in closer to himself). I only got to talk to him in person once before break and he seemed happy to see me and when I ran into him a few times on campus he smiled and waved then scooted off real quick, lol. I won't be able to see him until fall semester. I talked to him a few times over facebook but I initiated both of the conversations. The first message I sent him was "Hey (name),
I can't get your goofy little smile and wave out of my head. How are things going for you? " We had a good conversation but it seems that when I talk to him I'm doing more to move the conversation along. He's not totally blowing me off though because this one time he had to log off and when I didn't respond to his message right away he sent another message saying something like."you didn't write me a message to come back to.ect". I just wrapped up a conversation and told him to drop me a line sometime. So I'm just going to leave it and let him message me if he wants to.

My question is do you think I turned him off by showing him too much interest? Why hasn't he initiated communication with me? Do you think that he'll be interested in me come fall?

idk the answer because all guys are different. but I know that if they get what they want then they know they have it and aren't willing to work for it anymore. so stray from him a little bit while letting him know you're still into him.

Personally, I don't believe you showed too much interest, no.

To answer your basic question, no, most guys like it when a girl shows some interest. The few times it had happened to me, I loved it. Now, there's a "BUT" in that sentence. It was just hiding. Let me explain. guys will love it.to a point. Some guys don't like it when a girl shows fake interest, and most guys don't like seeing "too much" interest (and that amount is different from guy to guy.) - meaning desperation and stalker jealousy type of behavior. Now me, I'm an affectionate guy. In a romantic relationship, I'm a cuddler. So I'd most likely enjoy it when I'm next to a woman I have feelings for. Some guys don't.

Personally, while I want a cuddler, on that same token, I want a woman with her own life and friends. I want her to be able to tell me about her interesting day or week. I don't need 4-5 phone calls every day.

What you did was show some interest, but without chasing him down. Now, if he's not interested, ok, you'll need to move on. But give it some time. You never know.

Anyway, I hope this answer has helped.
