My sister just had a baby, but while she was pregnant random people would just walk up and start talking to her. A lot of them asked when she was due and what she was having, or they would show her pictures of their kids and tell her their life stories.
I have to say, it usually pissed my sister off. She couldn't walk around for long periods of time, it was uncomfortable, so she really didn't like people dragging out the process.
It is awkward. People used to go up to my wife and feel her belly without asking. People are just strange around babies. It's kind of like being rescued off a sinking ship. Everyone else who also escaped with their life feels a kinship to everyone else who survived.
Most pregnant woman get this sort of attention and they always will. Pregnancy attracts attention, it's such a wonderful thing and by default people, especially women, are drawn to it. She should enjoy it as part of the experience of being pregnant and be warned that once she gives birth, the newborn baby will attract twice as much attention, people will come up and comment on how cute she/he is and spew blessings. It's not awkward at all, it's natural and normal.
An immature baby? She's entitled to her opinion. Being uncomfortable with complete strangers asking to feel her stomach or telling her about their kids isn't being immature, it's being human. Pregnant women don't sign up for this attention. Some may be okay with it, but you have to respect the women who aren't, and I'm sure there are a lot of them. - 2 months ago

I could care less if people disagree with me, but you could've answered the question without insulting my sister. You have a lot of nerve calling anyone else immature. - 2 months ago
I find it really awkward. I wouldn't talk to her unless there was some reason to interact, like if she was buying something and I was the cashier, I might -possibly- mention it if what she bought was baby related. But touching her or telling her all about my kids? No way, that's just bizarre. Pregnant women are just like anyone else when it comes to manners, so I think these people are way out of line. They probably mean well, but it's still rude.
Some people did. Her stomach was pretty big towards the end, so everyone either touched it or said something about it--then she got all emotional about how "fat" she was :\ - 2 months ago
