I meet a girl through a dating website of sorts, have yet to talk on phone or meet just have chatted on aim. She seems like an nice girl and all but one thing concerns me IF it were to go further ie boyfriend/girlfriend
She is extremely obsessed with a singer from a band she likes to the point of going to almost every show locally as possible, leaving away messages on aim like dreaming of blah blah blah, alway constantly talking about him, and she even went so far as to tattoo an image of something she received at a concert on her body, that I think is going way to far.
And I am worried IF by some chance we hit it off that the obsession would end up well just being diverted to someone (namely me) or something else or even and this is just a what if- if we broke up.
I have to admit the obsession doesn't give me the warm fuzzies to say the least, I would say it is not normal by any means and have to wonder what it says about her personality on a more deeply level.
Um.yes your intuition is right. Be careful with this.people with obsessions as strong as her tend to have some things they need to get looked at. I suggest therapy.it's just not right. I'm sorry.
Yes, I think it was the best choice to not go any further with that girl. Perhaps it is just a phase and she will at some point not be obsessed with this band anymore. You never know, but for now I think it is just better that way.
It is okay to be a enthusiastic fan of a band, but there are limits I think. They should not become the center of your universe.

It seems that Americans have a tendency to divide themselves into categories. There exist enough stereotypes to allow all the athletic, testosterone-laden men and women to find the “Jocks” category,...
I’ve never been good at being “emotional.” In fact, for most of my life I’ve tried to stay away from any sort of drama associated with feelings or confrontations with others. Not to say that I’m not...
