me and an ex girlfriend of four years split up about five years ago because she started dating one of my then best friends, well needless to say they have been together ever since, and recently got married. well me and her share a goddaughter through mutual friends, so we see each other frequently. I have no problem talking to either of them, I see them as anyone else, I shake his hand, ask how things are going with them. my question is why does everyone seem to make a big deal out of me doing this, I don't care about what happened that was in the past? everyone seems to think its weird.
it's good that you don't care that happened. I think people are just surprised that you got over her easily. they're probably just trying to see if you feel any hatred toward your best friend and wonder if you're really good at hiding it. of course, you don't hate him, so you shouldn't care much that people are making a big deal out of it.
