Just wondering, how would one go about initiating a FWB relationship with an ex boyfriend? Just curious to hear from those of you who perhaps are in such a relationship or know anything about it.thanks!

What Guys Said

Yes I've known people, quite a few actually.it's more common I think with older people.

All I can say is that while it might sound like a good idea, it usually ends badly! For the same reasons people broke up to begin with, PLUS all the complications with friends and family inherent in that sort of relationship.

And I don't know why a young person would want that sort of relationship, to be honest. Aren't you interested in something with more of a future?

I would say something along the lines of, "I enjoyed the sex between us. Would you be willing to have a FWB relationship for now until we meet someone else we'd like to date?"

Me and my ex are FWB.sad, but true. Somehow it couldn't work for us, but we both can't stay away from eachother. So we talked about our feelings and how all this would work. Its not really akward since were both already comfortable with eachother.

Well, you may catch a lot of heat for this one but not from me lol. People on this site seem to frown on friends with benefits for the most part. I am in one with a good guy friend of mine. We had been flirting around for months and just would hang out after work and talk, that's it talk. We started talking about sex about a month or so ago and then 3 weeks ago we just did it. But before we actually hooked up we put everything out on the table first. We both know where we stand and what we expect which isn't much. And we both know that if things start to get complicated we have to bail so we can try to salvage the friendship.

Now almost everyone will tell you this.BE CAREFUL! which I will say also. Me and mine had sex 4 times and I can feel things are heating up. I can tell he likes me BUT we are both being very careful and we are actually meeting up tomorrow to talk about some stuff because I tried to call it off the other day and he wants to talk to me so I don't know what he's gonna say but we'll see.

Bottom line, get everything out on the table and be careful for sure. Sometimes when it's someone you're already fond of as a person, it's easy to develop stronger feelings than just friends which I think is happening in my situation. But it's very hard when the sex is sooooo good and he treats me with such respect! Not sure if I helped any, lol.

Good luck and keep updates!
