So I met this guy a little over a year ago. Back then, I basically screwed things up. He liked me a lot, but I automatically pushed him away because I was just afraid of getting that close to someone.
A few months ago I finally realized my mistake and now I'm working on trying to get things back to where they use to be.
But there are a few problems.
1) He's still interested, but holds back. He told me he doesn't want to put himself out there for someone who won't in return.
I told him I'm trying to make more of an effort to talk and hang out with him, but.
2) He's had some creepy encounters with a couple girls in the past. They basically tried to force themselves on him, and it obviously freaked him out.
So I've been trying to put myself out there (texting, IMing, asking him to hang out), but it's hard when he's more reserved than he use to be. I feel like pretty soon I'm going to put too much effort in this and it'll freak him out.
How do I make more of an effort to get closer without coming across as the next creeper who wants to stalk him?
Ask him to be your friend instead of trying to date him. Talk to him, hang out with him, show him how fun you are and be yourself. If he still likes you.he will fall for you again. Just don't make it obvious and be patient. When you guy become friend then you can text him, IMing and call him without looking like a stalker. Good luck!
