i just got off the phone with the guy I dated about 10 years ago, he and I have remained friends since. of course, he was drunk dialing and since I still have feelings for him I had to answer his call. Mid conversation, he brings up how longs its been since we have seen each other and wants to fly me out to see him. we always had a great time, so I told him to look into flights. if he actually looks at the flight time and dates I can take him more seriously. Then he flat out says, " when are we getting married?" I told him, " you have to propose first." its playful, but is he being serious? he is the second person that talks about marriage with me that casually. what does it mean?!

Update: so he looked into flights this morning and gave me departure times and everything. should I take him seriously yet?    4 months ago

sounds like play - it's a pretty common sort of play too

no, not serious. for 1 his drunk, and how fincancially stable is he.

now he asks you that and as a guy I can tell you that when guys say things like that; its just another way of saying "i love you".

Question Asker He has always been good with his money and currently in the navy. I don't think $ will be much of a problem. I kinda thought it was a term of endearment as well. yea! glad you said that. should I go to SD and see him? - 4 months ago
Answerer Yes you should, even if its just friends. talk to him and see how he's doing. he will tell you if he is serious and why now. - 4 months ago

you can interpret this however you'd like.

for me, it would mean that they don't take marriage that seriously. I would never dream of mentioning marriage to a guy in such a cavalier fashion - and I'm a WOMAN. we're supposed to be all gushy when it comes to that stuff.

i think it's a line they are feeding you. guys know that most women see marriage as the end game (the big goal) and I think they're just using that as a way to get what THEY want (probably sex).

just my opinion. good call about the flights. I wouldn't take it seriously until his produces some flight options and re-affirms his willingness to pay for the ticket.

good luck sista! sounds like you've got a good head on your shoulders.
