Hi! Hope you can help! It was my birthday yesterday, I turned 25. My boyfriend is out of the country and has been ringing me every day, but yesterday all I got from him was a "HAPPY BIRTHDAY" text message. We've been together 5 years and I think it's unacceptable that he didn't ring me on my birthday. I just lost my dad a month ago and I went trough lots of stuff, I've been on my own since as he had to go abroad, so it's been hard, and now I feel he purposely misses out on the times when I need him most.
Otherwise we are ok together, but just to mention he did this last year on New Year's as well. He went to see his family to another city and never came back...only next day, because apparently he heard some stuff I said about him from other people. I know this isn't a good reason, but GUYS, I still need your opinion. I bet he will ring me tonight, should I ask him why he didn't ring me last night for my birthday? I was at home waiting for the phone call, all by myself. No party, nothing. Please help! I love him, but I don't think I can handle this anymore. Does he love me? He never says.
There is no doubt he should have called you on your birthday.
I would first try to find out why he didn't call you, let him know how upset it made you and help him understand why it made you upset. Make him understand that if he does it again that you will take it as a clear sign that he does not care for you on the level you need and expect.
When it comes to the phone call it's not the fact he doesn't love you, he's probably thinking about you all the time. What you need to do is when he calls you tonight don't ask him. Instead, say "Baby I missed your voice yesterday" he'll most likely be all cutesy and say he's sorry and when it comes to his love hint and ask him about it like this, "Love you Baby and it makes me sad not to hear my sweethearts voice on my birthday".
BTW watch your situation for a little while and if things continue talk about a break and watch how he changes around.
Don't get me wrong -- I love my boyfriend of 8 months. He's great to me, we get along, and have a lot in common, and I know he loves me. But things in...

Describe your ideal first date; Where do you go? What do you wear? How does the date end?
Ah. Well honestly I'm HORRIBLE at the whole dating thing, and my dates have always gone completely miserable, but hmm.. The prefect date would have to be something fun and relaxing. No dressing up or any of that crap, just like jeans and a t-shirt for attire? If the date goes well it would end with a kiss. =]
Afterwards..what will your date know about you?
Well, I tend to talk a lot when I'm nervous. Probably a little too much =] Haha.
