Why do guys masturbate when they have someone they can have sex with?

I am a guy and I agree with you on your point. Well unfortunately, it is just the way it is. I don't think it is based on a preference of whether or not having someone to have sex with, more than it is the solo feeling of knowing how to hit just the right spot and charge up the perfect feeling of your own body. It is crazy but it boils down to the extreme arousal you can give yourself because you know how just how to hit your own sexual spot, and not having to deal with the stress of trying to please someone else. Hope you get this point, it is one of those things that is kinda somewhat difficult to put your finger on.

the two feel different. I say that sex is way better feeling however even though I do enjoy sex with my girlfriend on a regular basis, masturbating also feels great. Maybe he just likes to enjoy both sensations

I never understood this either. I mean I don't do it when I have someone to be with. The only plus of doing it would be so I could last longer, but I already do last long, so that would be stupid. Plus I like having sex twice a day if possible, so I definitely would save my "stuff" for my girl.

Of course I don't have a girl now so, even still, I guess some guys can't get enough.

This really annoys me too, and I still don't really get it on a personal level. I mean, I used to masturbate a lot when I was single, because I simply didn't have anybody! I always prefer to have sex with my man rather than masturbate. When I finally got with him, I thought "Great! I don't ever have to masturbate again!" LOL

However, this is what my guy told me, and it does make sense, even though it still irritates me. LOL He says that--especially in the morning--he just gets the urge and needs to have an orgasm. He just needs the relief, and since he knows how to please himself just right, he can satisfy himself really quickly and be done with it. I can understand this to some degree, because I can give myself an orgasm a lot quicker and easier than he can. You know yourself best, right?

With sex, it's not that it's not as good, it just takes more time, and sometimes (again, especially in the morning), he just needs to relieve himself. This is especially true when he gets up to get ready for work. It's just quicker and easier for him to take care of himself (otherwise he'd be late for work LOL).

This may not be true for all guys, but I've just had to learn that--for my man at least--he essentially has two separate needs: the need for sex and intimacy with his woman, and the very simple need to relieve himself through orgasm. The latter is like a basic daily function for him, just like getting up out of bed to go pee. LOL

I admit that it still bugs me, because I still feel like I'd take him over my hand any day. I just try to give him his space and not take it personally. There's still plenty of other times in the day when we can have sex.
