I see the trait in guys and girls- comes up as jealously. Some people freak out over little things, while others take a lot more. Or it may show as touching each other in public (not sexually, just arm, or something to "claim" the other person.

It's both a female and male thing. It's a human thing.

What do you mean by territorial?

A strong feeling to have your own space, that you make as you want? Women definitely feel this way. How many times have you heard of a woman saying a boyfriend's house or apartment "needs a woman's touch." This is all part of a woman's nesting instinct, to make a comfortable place for her and her loved ones. Try putting a neon beer sign on the wall, and you'll see just how territorial she can be.

If you're talking about with her boyfriend (or girlfriend) then of course. Everybody gets jealous, it's a part of being human. Women tend to get more jealous of attention and emotional connections where men get more jealous about sex. Many women (including me) would probably forgive a minor sexual affair, but would have a hard time getting over an emotional betrayal like falling in love with another woman. I think most men feel just the opposite: they don't care so much if their girlfriend is really close with another guy as long as they're confident it's not physical, but can't get over a physical betrayal.

Women can definitely be just as vicious and violent as men when they're jealous.

(Of course, this is all a big generality.)

it's def a male thing.but because men do it women feel it is free game so lets do it too.plus when women are territorial its because "the man" puts us in that situation. however I don't know any man that would deny another woman talking to him or flirting even if he is in a relationship. It's easier for the woman to go after a woman and have a huge cat fight over a guy than confont the guy and risk arm candy status? Probably but if you really need to be protective over your man he most def shouldn't be your man. after all you want someone to bring the dinner home not some sweet talker who will talk some innocent woman out of hers and the pretend like he got that! Playz! LOL

yea I would definitely say that woman are territorial. but I think it goes both ways. for example, about potential boy/girlfriends, other friends, etc. I think girls can be more catty about it and guys get more physical. but girls hold grudges, and generally guys dont.

Question Asker On the subject of grudges... I seems to me that women can hold on to grudges for a verrrrry long time. I see that in guys, they tend to let those thing go over rather quickly - even if does not lead to any confrontation of the sort. Do you find that to be true that girls hold on to things like that? Does it take time for them to finally get over it? Esp if she is angry at a guy? - A month ago
WeaponZero Well, I hold onto grudges forever. I have grudges dating back to my middle school years and I'm 28 now. - A month ago
Answerer Hmm well not all girls, but a lot. I admit that I can hold grudges, but it depends what the person did. like I didn't talk to a girl for 2 months because she flipped out on me over something stupid. we're friendly again though. I think everything takes time to get over though. like if it's something stupid, ill get over it in like a day. yeah like guys if they really hurt me then I may not forgive them for a while. but if I can tell that they truly are sorry, then I will forgive them. - A month ago
Question Asker To Imyoursxoxo - So I'm curious..what is something that a guy did that caused you to be angry at them for a long period of time? (I was kind of in this situation and I while she denied being angry at me, I knew the opposite was true, esp by her behaviour. She slowly started to warm up to me last Friday after 2 months of silent treatment and occasional cattiness.) - A month ago
Question Asker To WeaponZero - What could have been so bad that you would still harbor some resentment/grudge for that long? Just curious. - A month ago
Answerer Haha well...funny story. basically this guy made me look like an idiot in front of his friends, like he tricked me into going out with him, etc. and we haven't talked in over 2 years...but I'm not really like that mostly, he's the only one but he's a douche bag, so it's ok. but most guys I don't hold grudges against if I really care about them. - A month ago
