. . .you knew she was uncomfortable with it?

In this case, I'm referring to pictures. I've talked to many guys online, and they always wanted a picture (sometimes clean, somtimes not so much).

I can understand the desire to see a face pic or something (although I personally am slightly uncomfortable with that).

If you're talking to a girl, and you knew she was uncomfortable with pictures, why would you keep asking her for them and bringing them up indirectly?

Couple of points:

1- Leaving out the why the guys are asking for pictures, the question you might want to ask yourself is why are you uncomfortable sending pictures? Are you uncomfortable with your body? or some small portion of your how you look? or are you afraid of the emotions that come from doing this?

If you just not photogenic, then say that up front. If it's something else that's bothering you, you might want to figure it out and address it in some way.

2- Several reasons that guys are asking for pics: One, they are visual, as are girls. Two, they don't really want any kind of a commitment or to do any kind of work, so a picture gives them a small sense of accomplishment, like they did actually something to be "social" with girls, so now they don't have to actually go out there and talk to somebody in person. Three, they might be pervs and not actual real guys, watch out for those.

If you feel like it's something you don't want to do, switch to a different form of interacting, go to the mall instead of talking online or something along those lines.

Question Asker I do say that I'm not photogenic upfront.

What's the difference between a "perv" and a "real guy"? (I know that not all real guys are pervs, but what defines a "perv" versus a "real man"?)

I've tried other forms of interacting. They don't work, which is now why I talk to people online. - A month ago
Answerer Try the following step of events:

1- You start interacting online
2- You exchange pictures
3- You like what you see and the guy still is talking to you after seeing your picture
4- Steer it offline. Maybe email first, then text messaging, then phone and in person.

If you have somebody that's interested, they won't have any issues following those steps of events, if you sense hesitation or get a lot of excuses, drop the interaction because it won't go anywhere and you're wasting your time. - A month ago
Question Asker The people I talk to live hundreds of miles away fom me; so in person is out of the question for a while (until I turn 18)

I've learned to become less paranoid about sending a face pic, but it bugs me when they continue asking for body pics after I've told them no.

You didn't answer my question about the perv/real guy thing, but thanks for answering the rest of them. - A month ago
