Girls, I commented that my girlfriend's nails looked nice and I liked the color. She replied that it was ballerina white/pink(I think, just looked pink to me). I said that was a ridiculous name. Anyway, she started describing various color names. All ridiculous. I bet her that she could not find a normal color name on a bottle. The range of colors is a box of Crayola crayons. I'm hoping that all the nail polish colors are somewhat strange instead of something you would find in a crayon box. She's got a week to show me a bottle with a normal name. What are my odds?
Update: Thanks for the answers. Guess I should have asked before I bet. She spent about 30 of my bucks proving me wrong:(. She found Cotton Candy, Pink Flamingo and Tickle Me Pink. ) I'm really pissed at Crayola. What happened to plain old primary colors?

Get a pedicure with a seriously funky color. Then, you can put your socks/shoes back on. No one will know. Plus, the foot massages are TO DIE FOR.

OPI? ForEVER. That's why it costs so much. Cuts down on how many times you have to get a manicure. You could always do some SERIOUS manual labor, which will cause it to chip away faster.

If you bet her a certain type of nail polish didn't have a one word name like red or white, then I'm sure it would be hard to find. If she is looking in O. P. I which is the best nail polish there is, it may be hard to find a one letter, red or white, kind of color.

I couldn't find a one letter word. You should have told her to browse through the nail polish that she was using. Because usually the cheap shades are easy to find: red, or yellow or any color like that. But if its a more expensive brand; people like the names. People will buy anything that looks good. It really could be easy for her to win. All she would have to do is get a plain black , or white nail polish. So it depends if she's think about that or not. And I went through about 15 colors and found white, black, red, and blue the others were like I'm not really a witness, frosted ice calypso,blue ice and stuff like that.

Haha, I love this question. Her chances of finding a nail polish that just says "red" or some such thing are about zero. Possibly the most normal names she's likely to get are maybe "plum" for a purple one, or various other fruit names. But they can't just call it "red," because then that precludes them from making other shades of red that are nearly exactly the same but they want people to buy them anyway so they get a higher profit. So they want each of their colors to seem different, even when they're really almost exactly the same.
The most sensible polish color name you've got a chance of seeing is "clear. " And I don't even know if they actually call clear polish "clear," or if some brands call it something ridiculous like "shimmer" or "diamond. " But, I'm pretty sure that you're going to win this one.
