Let it go. It is mostly likely that she advanced the old and busted story to let you off easy. It is possible that what she was looking for was some amazing sex and having that, she needs to concentrate on her life again. I am very familiar with the problem as I date a number of women in the their late thirties and early forties, time is the biggest limiting factor and often, there is only enough time to slip in the occasional hot sex
If you really like her, wait a couple of months and invite her out on another date, that might be low impact enough to restablish something.
