You made a mistake when you accepted to sleep with him casually. Now the only reason he would come back for is sex. Stop having sex and if he still comes back and hangs out.

If you two can do those things then you deserve to be together - it wasn't the right time to break up, tell him that you wanna be with him- then if he isn't up for it then maybe he's using you----go get him girl before someone else does.
Stop having sex with him and it's time to move on. Salvage the friendship if your heart can take it. I'm sorry but if he wanted to be with you, that card would have ignited confessions and escalated the relationship. So, time to move on...
