What are some ideas for first dates?

make it something you actually enjoy & don't be afraid to say "no" to a suggestion that you don't like (i'd rather hear a girl say "yes I'll go out with you, but not there" than have the girl agree to whatever I suggested & have a bad time as a result).

A first date must be: casual, light hearted, fun, and promote discussion while giving you plenty of opportunities to laugh. Alcohol should be limited.

My ideal first date would be at a comedy club, seeing a standup comedy act together and then going out for dinner after.

Going to a theme park, to the movies, a restaurant or café. Natural places are also romantic, simply just going on a walk and chatting together, if it's night time you can look up at the stars. Going dancing or to the theatre is also nice if you are an outgoing and performing arts type of person. If you have the same music taste you could set a date to go to a music gig that you will both enjoy. If they are local guys and there's something local going on near where you live like a fair or a local gig then why not meet them there.
If it's your first time meeting them though, I suggest you meet in a public place just to ensure saftey, another idea is a shopping center/city, cities or large shopping areas have a lot to look at and sometimes additional events going on. Going bowling is fun, then you could meet your date with a group of friends and team up, iceskating if you're into that, arcades, a boat ride? (Only thought of this because I used to live near a lake and once I went with my date on a boat, really romantic.)
