Does he really want to go out with me?

There are 2 conclusions I come to when I read this:

1. This guy seems to be a "player" and wanting to be "single" could mean that he only wants to sleep around with as many girls as possible and have no serious relationships or "dating". If this is true: forget about him, he will only misuse you.

2. Or it could be the radical opposite: He is confused and overwhelmed by all the pretty girls around him and unsure which one he really, really likes/ fits with him, and is hesitant to choose because he doesn't want to cause heartbreak and regret it, thus chooses to be single to avoid heartbreak and stay "pure".

It could be a mix between the two - but finally the answer to your question is most probably: no

I think maybe you should talk to him. But if he really does say he wants to be single, and he likes two other girls then I wouldn't bother with him. The right guy for you would like those two other girls until he met you and then he'd be like "wow she's perfect. I know who I want. " if he doesn't know what he wants then id move on to the guy that is sure he wants you and only you.

I would say if he said he wants to be single, then shy away from him. If he likes you and two other girls, then he needs to make up his mind. Don't stress over him just yet.

Don't believe everything that you hear from a friend. You should ask this guy yourself. Sometimes a guy will not be comfortable telling a friend that he likes you, but he will tell you. On the other hand, who knows, your friend could be right; maybe he does just want to be single.
