Do long distance relationships work? My friend and I have known each other for a few years but have never dated. She has had rotten luck with men and I with women, we've always taken our kids out together we converse candidly all the time now that she's moved away she decides we should have been dating and that I was right for her but she never realized it till now. Should I just leave things as they are or pursue this. She's intelligent, fun a good listener and built like a top model , but now with a 100+ miles between us I'm not sure this would work.
I guess it depends what you want. If you want a serious, long-term relationship, maybe marriage, then it's pretty far away! If you just want to have fun together (sexual or otherwise) when you see each other, that's a different thing. But I get the impression you want the first choice.
Is it possible she could move back? Or you could move there?
If your feelings for one another are solid and true than it can and will work. Hell, my girlfriend and I made it three years long distance only seeing each other and average of twice a month. It was on our longest break apart, seven weeks this year, that did us in. They can work but dammit they are hard, painful, and full of bumps and bruises. I would never do it again personally.
