Overweight

Question

So I was wondering, I am 17 and have never had a boyfriend or kissed a guy, I've had a date and all that but I can't seem to get a guy truly interested and if I do, they change their minds and usually want to be friends. So I was wondering, I know I'm not the prettiest or slimest person, but am I that ugly? IDK, some feedback would be nice.

Sweetie, something is telling me that you're about to graduate this year.I'm sure you'll be excited when high school is finally over, I know I was!  I hated it because the "pretty" and REALLY skinny girls got all the attention, and since I was neither, nobody, well, except for a couple of guys in special ed (I'm not one of those either) asked me out.  Anyway, I've been on the same boat as you, I was kissed a couple of months before my 18th birthday and met my first boyfriend when I was 23.  I was never overweight, so I can't identify with you on that issue, but I was not considered conventionally "pretty" in high school or college--at least I didn't get the attention that so called pretty girls got, but the interesting thing is, I always saw myself as beautiful, even though, like you, I was puzzled and bummed as to why I can't get a boyfriend and, I know it sounds cliche, but you gotta love yourself and see yourself as beautiful too.  A lot of those girls are overrated and not naturally pretty---fake blonde hair, fake tan, and starve themselves to be stick thin, etc.  You don't wanna change yourself just to impress some loser.  Guys come and go, so my advice to you is.(and I wish I was told this when I was your age).focus on yourself and your strengths and esp. your education and don't waste your time on some losers that won't mean s*** years from now,  because all you have is yourself, and enjoy your youth and lack of responsibility while they last!

Ok you are 17 years old.  I know having a boyfriend is important to you, but focus on your school and your career.  When you are succesful and independent men will be attracted to you and you won't even have to try because they will see your inner glow of self confidence  Then you will not just attract any man, but you will attract the man of your dreams.  AND you don't have to be the most intelligent to have a succesful career or to make something out of yourself, you just have to be internally motivated.  Focus on your education and independence while you are still young.  Besides by doing this you spare yourself the misery of a broken heart for a man that's not right for you anyways.

If you are overweight, do not dispair. This can be fixed with dieting, exercising and so on. I`ve known a thick woman coworker that I would have married instead of sex-only with the other prettier yet stuck up women had she been available. Her charm and personality was so radiant that I just wanted her very much.

Personality really counts for men, particularly older and more mature men. There must be other factors that may dictate how the boys relate to you. Drugs, smoking and binge drinking are very important criterias to consider as more and more people use 'habits' is determining the quality of a person. As a woman, you should also think about how you come off with the guys. IF and only IF, you act like a tease or play hard-to-get; then guys will usually have nothing for you.

I say keep trying. Perhaps you are in a small town where the pickings are not so plentiful. You will have your opportunities if you have a good personality and free of habits.

I think the first thing you need to do is get your self confidence back up. So if you're worried about your weight (and I really really doubt that your even overweight), then you should go out and do some physical activity---exercise isn't restricted to the treadmill (try basketball or soccer--don't play baseball as it's not really as intense as the previous two). Once you start getting your confidence up, then focus on things that make you happy (I always find girls that are into a passion of theirs really cool).

So what I'm basically saying is you need to work out what you think needs working out on yourself (inside and out) before your ready for a relationships because otherwise, you'll always doubt your worth and that will reflect not only on you, but on your future relationships as well.

well I don't know I have never meet you or seen you lol, its ok you haven't ever been kissed yet, you will! Most guys its not such a big deal about how a girl looks but more about how she carrys herself and he attitude! Just keep smiling and be outgoing and you will be fine!
