I was dating a person for a few years. we started having problems back near Christmas. We split up for a few weeks and during those weeks I started dating someone else, Adam. I eventually went back to my first man but just last week he left me.
I now feel it was a mistake to have ever left Adam because I really do have feelings for him. He shows some wanting of starting over but he is reluctant. I just want someone to help me understand why I just want 2 clear it up before he leaves for marines.

Getting over someone is very difficult, especially when right after. Getting caught between two is even more difficult. You seem lucky in that one of them is going away soon and the other one seems to have left you for good. Leave them both and find someone better, who is there to stay, who doesn't leave you. Hang out with your friends and get their insights, as they would know something about both you and them. You will find someone else so soon that even you would be surprised how it happened..
You need to make up your mind. If he is leaving for the marines, talk to him asap but don't confuse him more, be straight, yay or nay. Guys like straight, on the topic, blunt girls.
You need to take time off from both.. No relation dies within a week of separation and no relation starts within a week.. and it seems you got the short end of the stick on both of them.. you are getting to the best time of the year.. go out there, meet new people and get over both.. if you think you both have the feelings for one another after a while, you can give it another try.. and especially stay clear from someone who is shortly going away, without having shared a past..

If you started dating someone else so fast after being with Adam for years, I don't get how you could really love him that much. And, if you think it's hard to stick together through problems, imagine how hard it will be when he leaves for the army or whatever. Good luck!
Don't get me wrong -- I love my boyfriend of 8 months. He's great to me, we get along, and have a lot in common, and I know he loves me. But things in...

Describe your ideal first date; Where do you go? What do you wear? How does the date end?
My ideal date would be somewhere where we could talk and get to know each other like bowling (my town has nothing else to do but that and movies so I'm limited) skating would be fun. I'd try to look as nice as possible but still being me. Do my hair all perfect and stuff like that:). I'd take her home where hopefully a kiss might happen. Just on the lips no tongue. It is the first date after all ;)
Afterwards..what will your date know about you?
Hopefully that I'm a great guy who will be himself around you or anyone. Do anything to make you laugh. That I'm not afraid to show that I'm with you in public or in front of "the guys". That I'm rather sensitive but can still stand up for myself. That I can be both independent and dependent. & I'm dependable. Also that I'd do a lot to impress you. =]]
