this dude I met a few weeks ago seems real cool but he tells me about this girl named jaz that he asked out but she turned him down because she only liked him as a friend. I've been crushing on jaz for awhile now and even though jaz and I aren't very close we get along great and I feel like I may regret not asking her out but wouldn't I be betraying him if I ask her out?
If you feel comfortable enough to ask this guy how he feels about you dating Jaz, then ask him first. If not you have to think about which you would rather lose. Choose your friend and maybe miss out on the girl or choose the girl and lose a friend. But then again, you might not end up losing him as a friend, maybe he will be cool with it. If you ask him, and he OKs it, it's not betraying him. But if he says no, and you do it anyways, then it is. Wierd, I know a guy who is obessed with a girl named jaz too! it sounds like him a lot the way you discribed.
