I used to know this guy when I was younger, and we recently went out for coffee to chat for a while. He paid for my coffee and that surprised me. Then the following week he took me out to pizza and the movies, which he also paid for. I'm not used to boys paying for me, and now I'm afraid that he thinks we're dating. I thought we were just hanging out as friends, but he keeps texting me and emailing me...I'm feeling a little creeped out. I'm just not into him that way. What should I do?

It definitely sounds like he has the wrong impression. This happened to me when I was a freshman in high school. Your best bet is to tell him he's a really good friend who's opinion you value. Then ask him what you should do because there's a guy you like who maybe doesn't notice you or something like that and he'll get the picture. Or just flat out tell him that you get the feeling he wants to be more than friends and you just aren't interested in that but you still want to be friends. What happened to me was the girl I liked secretly dated a somewhat friend of mine and I found out later and was more hurt than if she would have just said hey "I'm not really interested in being more than friends". 6 years later I'm closer friends with the guy she dated and haven't heard from her in 5 years. The truth might hurt but not as much as being lied too. If he does seem like he would be a cool friend then make sure you keep him as a friend since you can never have too many. But if you really don't care then I guess you could just lie to him and never talk to him again since it wouldn't really matter if you don't plan to keep him as a friend. Hope I helped, best of luck to you.
