How do you get a friend that you've known for some time now (and some time meaning a few years). To catch her interest into dating you, I've let her know that I like her and all but she told me she doesn't wanna ruin our friendship and I've told her if it doesn't work we'd go back to just friends again. And I've told her that we should try because you never know what could happen unless you try.

What can I do to try and ignite some sorta spark

Be careful. If she really decides she likes you, she might not be able to be friends again if you two break up. I lost my best friend that way.

The-Nash It does sound like she doesn't want to lose a best friend and a boyfriend (all in one person) afterwards. That's if they were to date and have a rocky break-up. Some friends are like diamonds, you want them to last forever. Excellant point. - 8 months ago

Usually when a girl says she doesn't want to ruin your friendship it's really because she's just not into you that way and doesn't want to hurt your feelings. But if she really is worried it will ruin the friendship then make a plan for a "friends night out" something romantic like a nice dinner and a stroll through a park at sunset. Then make your move if she still doesn't bite then at least you'll know and be able to move on.

Okay, has she had other boyfriends since you've known her? I assume she has, and she probably acts different around them then she does around you. She is probably more sincere (friendly and honest) to you and more fun and flirty to her boyfriend. I would try to notice what differences there are between them, like how you and these other guys went about flirting. But you got to think that if you started acting differently around her, would she think that something is up? That usually leads to being avoided, you know, and you probably don't want that. I would try to open the dating options for you more, and see if she still seems like she is the one or just a good friend. Because sometimes it's hard to tell when your know, and are around someone for a while.
