I was curious. This guy I like that I'm pretty sure likes me has this thing he does. Some background is that we're good friends, and we've known each other for a while. Whenever we are hanging out with a bunch of people he randomly announces "I love (insert my name). " It is always entirely unrelated to the topic of conversation, and he usually does it more than once, and nearly every time I see him. It's hard to describe, but it's almost like blurting it out/a declaration. I've never seen him do this to any other girl, and he's an outgoing guy, so it's not like he's shy and spazzing or something. One time when he was online, I IMed him asking him a question about his away message, but he never answered, so before I signed off I said something in regards to him not wanting to talk to me or something along those lines (because he had not been idle really). Then at like 2am or something I get this text from him that's like saying of course he wanted to talk to me. He explained he hadn't really been around his computer, and ended the text with "i still love you! ". So my question. I know he doesn't LOVE me. I mean right? But what does he mean by this? Other than him liking me I'm guessing. (there's a bunch of explanation I'm leaving out about why I'm pretty sure he likes me)
Here's the deal. The guy wants to hook up with you, but he is afraid to push it for fear of rejection. Even though he is an outgoing guy in general, he's probably feeling a little nervous because he is 'attached to the outcome' of wanting to hook up with you.
This is why he doesn't come forward with his intentions completely. He is throwing a little bit out there to see how you react. Him saying things randomly allows him to say "oh, I was just kidding" if you react negatively.
This is why men who don't 'push forward', usually don't get laid. Why, because you're not going to start pursuing him, or putting the moves on him (you don't want to run the risk of people thinking you're a slut, or easy). You probably want this guy to just come forward, take chances, put himself on the line such that you two can have hot, passionate sex.
