Me and this guy have known each other for awhile, and in the past 3 months we've really gotten to know each other. I like him, and I was pretty sure he liked me up until late last week sometime when he decided he'd finally ask this girl out that's he's been chasing for over a year. I made the mistake of giving him girl advice about what he should do.
Anyways, he finally got up the courage and told her he liked her. She didn't seem to react in any way, shape or form.
So last night I was hosting a party and he was there. We maintained eye constant pretty much the whole time and while he would be talking to other people beside him, he'd be looking directly in my eyes. A few of us were also tackling him and he was lying on my floor and he needed help up, so I put my hand down to help him up and he wrapped his legs around mine while I was still standing so I couldn't go anywhere. I eventually fell forward onto him but I grabbed his shoulders before I could hit the floor. A few more things I noticed were when he had my glasses (I had to put my glasses on because my contacts were bothering me) I went to reach for them, but I can't see very well. So I ended up grabbing his hand and it just stayed there for like 10 seconds and neither one of us moved our hands away. When he got home he called me at 1:40 AM - but I missed the call.
So basically my is question, what does this mean? Should I even bother telling him I like him if he's still going after this girl? He knows that I don't like to talk about him and the girl and what's going on but he does it anyway. Why?
From what I get from what you've said, he does like you, but likes this other girl just a little more and he's just keeping that bond that you guys have so if this other girl he likes doesn't work, you'll be there for him. Kinda like a back up. But if you like him as much as I think you do, you should be the aggressor and go after him, tell him how you feel. If he's a good guy and you like him this much don't let him slip through your fingers.
It also seems like he maybe trying to make you jealous by telling you he likes another girl to test your reaction. He may know that it was safe to ask this girl out because if he's been after her for over a year and hasn't got anywhere he may know she wouldn't go out with him.
Sounds like he's confused between the two of you, he knows he likes this other girl and still feels for her, yet his feelings for you are growing and he's unsure what to do because he still feels for this other girl
Well I was going to write everything AOgixxer750 wrote I think he is right. Just tell him how you feel I think he likes you but he just like the other girl a little more. Question did you call him back and ask him what he called to talk about?
I didn't want to call his house at 1:40 AM since I figured his parents would be asleep. However I asked today and he said he forgot his key here, even though I have YET to find it. - 6 months ago
