The guy I like is realllyyy cute. And a lot of people think so. I think he likes me back but it is hard for me to believe because I am not gorgeous or anything. I am cute but not like hot or whatever other words teenage boys want in a girl. I heard through the grapevine that he called me good looking. Could he really think that? Could he like me even though I am not "hot"?
Update: And I know guys aren't that shallow and don't go for looks all the time but it seems to me teenage guys always talk about how hot a girl is and I know I am not hot but I think I am pretty on good hair day.

Well, you need to consider the source that you've gotten your information from. In any relationship, it is best to go right to the source to get your answers. It's always easier said than done. The best way to find out is to flirt with him a little and see how he responds. If he flirts back, there's a good chance he is interested in you. Keep in mind that you should set out to build a friendship with him first.
You've already defeated yourself by saying that you're not "hot". Confidence is key to attracting someone. It's not only about the looks! Work on other things that will attract people to you.
Guys do go for looks. Unless you do come across those few talented genuine fellas who just have one adjective for the girl "pretty" and this words caters to everything; being hot one of them. :-)
If you are attractive then guys will like you. Pretty = attractive. You don't have to be hot = barbie doll/sexy/cleavage to be noticed by a guy. If you look good then you look good! There are different types of beauty and many different guys to appreciate them all =)
