Well his response doesn't really mean anything to us because we don't know what you said to make him say that, so it's impossible to know what he meant by it.

As for whether or not he's interested, it's possible he's just a nice guy, but it's equally possible he does have a crush on you. I use the word "crush" because of the way he's acting, it's very innocent like, like children would do, not to say it's immature (it isn't), but that he is very appropriate.

Don't act a certain way or assume he likes you until you find out from him, it isn't fair to him to treat him differently if you think he likes you, EVEN IF you want him to like you and you like him. Just see if the flirting escalates, if it does, it may be more serious than just playfulness. :)
