or do girls want to talk less and less about themselves? I'm the kind of guy that just likes to listen and expects it when I'm talking to a girl, but it seems like they just don't have as much to say. they make it short and simple now lol I hate having to make the conversation!

So is it just me or is that pretty accurate?

Well, personally, I like to talk about myself, but I don't want it to come across that way. So, around guys especially, I act shy and "to myself." I don't know if you are doing this or not, but try not to ask yes or no questions because then all she has to say is yes or no obviously and she probably won't say anything else which makes it difficult to begin a conversation. Ask her how her day was or how her weekend was and if she just says "good," carry it on farther and be like "what did you do?" And if she tells you, then ask her things about what she did.

For example:
She says: "I went to Disneyland!"
You say: "Oh! That is so cool! What was your favorite ride?"
She says: "I liked Space Mountain."
You say: "Why? That ride sucks!" (jokingly of course)
And stuff like that, soon you will get a conversation going.

We don't want to come off as being conceited by talking about ourselves too much. Also, if the girl likes you, she is probably really really nervous and doesn't want to say the wrong thing.

well, girls like to talk about themselves, plain and simply. but if you don't have anything to say, or you don't say much, she'll begin to feel self conscious and she'll feel conceited. so make sure you talk about yourself as well. but maintain the same interest in what she has to say. !
