whenever I feel fat or something I tend to make a joke of it but when I'm with my guy and I say something like "im going to kill you with my fat" when he tells me to sit on his lap,but he gets a look and just says something like. "ur not fat", and then just tells me I'm not hurting him when I do sit on him, because I ask him if it hurts many times while I'm doing it. so is he telling the truth? or is he just being nice to me?
To him you aren't and that is the only opinion to you that should matter. Value the opinions of your loved ones because what everybody else thinks will always vary and leave you feeling bad. He thinks you are not fat so don't question him. He likes you the way you are even if you don't.
You said that he gets a look and says you're not fat. And he WANTS you to sit on his lap. So I don't know if he thinks you're thin or not, but what I do know is that he doesn't care and he loves you anyway.
I am going to take a different approach with this. Let's say you are fat, which by your description you probably aren't even close, then what? If that were a problem for him, he wouldn't be with you.
It sounds like you have some self esteem issues and if you don't start feeling better about who you are, your guy will lose interest. No one likes to be around someone who is a downer. I'm not trying to be harsh here but just to lay it on the line. What you described that he does with you when you get into your funks means that he actually cares about you. Hopefully you uplift him as much as he seems to uplift you because the whole"I'm fat" thing grows old on guys fast.
I know from experience, believe me. I have seen women who are a size 22 have better self esteem than women who are a size 2. It's really not about your size but what energy you radiate out.
And plus, even if he was just trying to make you feel better by saying you're thin when you're not, wouldn't you rather have that than some guy tell you "yes, you are looking fatter than yesterday"?
he is telling the truth do you really think a guy is going to want a fat person on there lap? no!
and speaking in experience the WORST thing you can do around a guy is call yourself fat,ugly or make any sort of fat jokes! they hate a girl putting them selfs down!
guys want girls who are confident in them self even if your not confident you just have to keep quiet about what you think of yourself and let people make there own minds up instead of them knowing what you don't like about yourself and stop drawing attention to it
I agree wholeheartedly! Why would he be going out with you if he didn't like the way you looked? My girlfriend used to say stuff like that, but I think I got her to realize she wasn't. Again, I would think he was fine with your looks if he's going out with you. If you really want a straightforward answer I would recommend just sitting him down and asking him "Do you want me to lose weight?". That would let you know for sure if he is just saying it or not.
