He is interested, and you should call if you are going but that would be the only reason to call. If something like this happens again you should try to get him to take your number. As much as I hate that I have to call girls all the time, it also feels right at the same time. The guy should be contacting you to a certain extent. Call him when you go, if you have a good time with him afterwards make sure you let him know to call/ text you within the next couple of days.
Well if you like him, then yes, you should call. If you are too shy to call then just text him. It definitely sounds like he likes you. You can try flirting with him and see how he responds.
