I just started a new job and my coworker makes prolonged eye contact with me.stares every time he walks by my office and at meetings. These he does consistantly.but then on occasion he will stand close to talk to me, "accidentally" touch me a lot.but then he backs off and doesn't for a couple months. he has bought me lunch twice when we were out working for the day. He teased one day we should skip work and go to the bar I said Sure lets go. He said we would probably get caught. I said ya. When I flirt with him he usually smiles and blushes. He gets nervous and drops his pens, etc. I want him to ask me out but when it seems like we are getting close to that he backs off. What do I do? I don't want to ask him out as I am new. I have dated people at work before and am ok with that. How do I up the ante? Or isn't he interested? He sure seems to be!

he's interested.why don't YOU ask him out?

If he's dropping pens over you, he certainly won't reject you

if you've worked there for a couple of months, you aren't new any more, ask him if he wants to go out for a drink, or go to a movie. some guys you have to push a little bit. I'm like that too. I've gotta be hit in the head with a brick sometimes, to get me to move. some guys have had crappy relationships, or crappy luck, they ask someone out that teases them, and get the ol' "oh, I WOULD like it, but I've got a boyfriend", and a handful of times of hearing that, and you just start to wonder, what's wrong with me? I'm a nice guy, decent looking,.why do I keep getting flirted with by girls who have boyrfirends? and you back way off.
just my opinion.

I have gotten a lot of advice that you question also, but the guy I am talking to is not my co-worker! But he probably does not know you like him back in return, that may be why he has not asked you out. You two should go on a date and you should bring it up in a conversation, or you should just let down your guard and ask him out! You already know he likes you, I mean what is their to lose?
P.S. My mom always told me that people miss out, but not making things happen.
