I have been friends with this guy Tom for about 3 years. I instantly liked him and we'd talk all the time online, usually for hours. We'd hang out every now and then, but now he's at college.
We still talk all the time, he sends me songs, stuff going on at his school, art and stuff that he's done, and he's always wanting me to come and visit him and stuff. My best friend, even told him that I liked him, and he still would talk to me.
But he always is talking about how my friends "want" him and when he came back home for a few weeks, he broke plans with me 3 times. Then I started going out with this guy, and for 2 months, not a word from him. In a fact every time I'd sign on, he'd sign off. Now that I am single again, he wants to talk to me again. I am so confused, I really like him, but am afraid to let myself, because all my friends think he's playing me. Any help?
Update: I don't know what to think. I asked him about the songs he sent me, he said that he just wanted me to hear them. If I talk about another guy he acts all weird, but he acts like it's ok to say another girl is hot. He canceled on me twice, but wants me to visit.

When he broke plans with you those 3 times, did you ever find out why? Real players don't break the plans, they move in, conquer and defeat! :) So far it sounds he is a bit insecure. If anything, I would talk to him, and see what has he been up to, but if you don't want to get involved so soon, gauge the situation by how he reacts to you and go from there. I would be curious to know why he broke the plans to go out with you those 3 times though.
