It depends on what you think is 'good'. The fastest way is to chop off an arm, that's good for saving time, but not so good for your health.
A healthy way is usually to lose any excess fat weight, which can be accomplished by consuming less calories, or using more calories. Consuming less is a good approach, many can't keep it up so they will burn some in exercise or build muscle to give their bodies shape and raise their metabolism. It is a preferable way of raising the metabolism to getting sick or shivering in cold or drinking cold water, although in general I dislike raising the metabolism to burn fat since I believe metabolism is related to the aging process, though less so with lots of antioxidant consumption.
To add what flower beauty said, lemme give you some pointers.
Remember it's not what you eat, it's what you don't eat.
Running is the most effective way to lose weight hands down. The elliptical machine is BS if you ask me. Sure you sweat but I can sweat sitting on the curb in the sun.
Even if it's only 5 minutes you can run, keep at as you will improve your time slowly.
Next: Set an exercise schedule and stick with it.
This by far is the most important. If you simply "go" to the gym whenever you feel like it, guess what? You'll rarely go. If you set a schedule, you'll be more motivated and focused.
My next bit of advice is to look at the body type you want and do the necessary steps to get to the look you want.
Let me tell you for real what is a diet first! There is no such a thing as diet, but if you want to lose weight you need to eat in really small portions. (6 meals a day) recommended!
-Make a fist (thats how big your stomach is) -Now you have to eat food as big as your fist is! and not anymore. -Little exercise at night for 30 minutes will do great, Drink lots and lots of water 2 Liters per day. Releases what your body doesn't need. -Don't eat a lot of sweets or junk food (actually exclude junk food from your diet). Good Luck!! Hope that helped!

Heres something else you can do! What I do everyday is in the morning I eat a banana for breakfast and when I'm hungry at night like at 9:00-11:00 pm. I eat 4 small oranges. It helps! Try that! - 10 months ago

Although this approach may happen to work for you, calories do in fact matter. Counting calories is the most accurate way to dial in your diet and lose weight. Eating small meals throughout the day does help keep your metabolism high which is good, but you want to make sure you aren't consuming too many calories by eating so many meals. Also rigorous cardio and some weight training are also great ways to up the metabolism. (Hint: foods that are healthy aren't necessarily low in calories) - 9 months ago
