I played tennis for 9 years now and I didn't join my tennis team because of how people treat them. When ever I play in the highschool courts their is always a really big dick driving around and making fun of the sport. He would yell out "Faggots" every time he drives by. I don't really know why people say that. Tennis is an elite sport and people make fun of it.
Is it because they can't afford to play it (shoes, rackets, training) or is it because it involves no violence. I'm in the football team and everyone loves the sport. Compared to tennis football is just a game for athleticism and competitiveness. Tennis has both of these perks and more. You run more and you get less breaks. Its a tougher sport to play and yet people still mock the game.
Well, I live in California, near San Francisco, and I've never seen any form of Tennis hating. It's incredible that it exists, I had never thought of it being something people would hate, and hate people who play it.
You may be right that to play tennis it requires a fair amount of money, and that becomes more prominent depending on the demographics and average income of the area you live in. Also, irrational fears of homosexuality could be blown out of proportion so that they're targeting everything that isn't the stereotypical quintessence of manliness.
On a slightly more uplifting note, those who play tennis are like those who play baseball, and one thing both have in common is they know how to swing things. Tennis players practice day in and day out swinging rackets sideways and overhead, so give one of them a baseball bat, and they could beat the living hell out of those haters if they ever had to defend themselves : )
We live in a corrupt world. If we manage to make it past global crisis's like Doomsday (Mayan calender ended on 2012 or 2013 I think), global warming, world shattering meteors and asteroids said to possibly hit in the next 30 years, or nuclear annihilation, then I think the world will only become better.
