Hooking up wii please help

I am having problems hooking up my Wii, and I don't know where else to go to ask. Well I have an Emerson TV like this in my room. link I have no problem getting it to work on there. There is a button in the middle that says "select" and I just press that and the "AUX" thing comes up and then my wii screen comes up. But I want to hook it up to the big tv downstairs and I can't get it to work. The TV down stais is an older Tv so it doesn't have a built in dvd/vhs playe, but we bought one and it's hooked up to the tv. The tv looks like this only without the speaers on the bottom, and it is an older version link The Wii manual says I can hook it up to a dvd/vhs system too. I can't find the dvd/vhs player online but it is Toshiba and it hs the 3 hookups (video, audio 1 and 2) that I need. Well I hook those up and I plug in and turn on my wii. Then I hit the select button on the dvd/vhs player and it only either switches to dvd or video. There is no AUX channel or anything like that that I can play my wii on. Can anyone please help me?

Have you tried turning the channel up or down dvd/vhs player if you have something like that. On the remote there should be something that says input or video.
