It depends on where I'm driving and what time of day and season. I'll try to explain the best I can. I know it sounds weird.
If I have to deal with traffic or snow I want to drive an automatic. Switching gears in the snow is just something I try to avoid, kind of sucks actually.
But "just driving" an automatic gets boring because I like to drive and driving a standard makes it more interactive, I guess. It's more fun to me than just sitting in my seat and steering along.
I prefer automatic, but I live in Chicago where there's always lots of stop and go driving. If I lived in a more rural area I could see going with a manual trans.
