I don't believe in religion but I do believe in God and his son who brought salvation to all of humanity by dying on the cross. The world may thus qualify me as "Christian" but I see myself as a man seeking God and truth in him and to be a good person for a better world. I have studied for a few years in a christian university and know that he is not only real but the central and eternal meaning of all things on earth and in heaven.

I was never raised on religion my step-father is very much against it which lead me to explore it because I wanted to know what was so evil about religion, I found that it actually gave me a moral compass to live my life by now and I find many people are shocked by the complete 180 degree turn my life has taken since finding faith in god and jesus christ. this all comes down to your personal preference really but I ask people when they say they don't believe in god, 1) do you believe that jesus christ was a man who walked this earth? 2) If you chose to believe and your wrong in the end, you still lived a good full life that was moral and true correct?

Scope it it out but make the choice on your own not by my opinion.

JayBird How do morals not come for religion? Just about every law and rule comes from/ can be found in the Bible. And not believing Jesus Christ walked on the Earth is being lazy, yourself (no matter how brutal) because there are historical proofs and references that show He did. And honestly? Christmas and Easter weren't made just to sell toys and chocolate bunnies. - 5 months ago

This is what I believe in. Religion just shows to become a good/moral person. I believe there is one ultimate God, followed by regular gods like Jesus, Moses, Buddah and so on.

I am Mormon. I am the only one in my family that is part of any organized church. My dad is kind of Catholic. I was converted by missionaries and I am pretty much allowed to make my own decisions.

I think that everyone should learn when they are young about every religion and then be able to choose one, or not choose one; but only after they have explored every option to find what they really do or don't believe. It really isn't a true decision unless you have many options. I don't think that parents should be allowed to force children to be baptized or converted or whatever you want to call it. I understand how you would want to baptize as a baby as in the Catholic Church but it really shouldn't be the parents decision.

I was born into a muslim family. Mom is religious and even though she would like me to be more like her, she never forces anything upon me. My dad is more political and cultural than religious. Anywho, I don't believe in organized religion. I do strongly believe in God though. Simply because I feel so much safer that I do, a world without a higher power just seems too scary to me. I also believe in all the 5 prophets but I don't think I believe in anything supernatural they might have done. then again, they say the average human only uses 10% of their brain or something so maybe they were very unique individuals who used more than the 10%? I believe organized religion is the root cause of all evil and turmoil in this world of ours due to the crazy fanatics.I don't like it. not one bit. no sir. If everyone could just listen to what their heart and mind tells them, they would know right from wrong, you don't need a book to tell you what's right and wrong. And if some weren't SO prideful in our religions, I believe there wouldn't be AS MUCH hate in this world. Its funny because pride is one of the deadly sins. heh

religion is too confusing for me to deal with. There are so many religions and beliefs, how can they all the right? Just like I don't think the world will end december 2012 because that is kind of a christian/people who believe in god and jesus all that thing. Like it will be the apocalypse Why would Buddhists die as a result of something that only people who believe in god and jesus believe in?

I am not a religious person at all. I believe there is some higher being, but I am not saying it is a guy with a beard and a long robe. I believe thee was a man named Jesus, just that he was a really great guy. I don't believe he could save the blind, but I do think he helped people. I don't know if there is a Heaven, but I would like to think there is. I have said this before on this site, but I don't go to church because I don't believe in everything they preach. If I did go that would make me a hypocrite. I think religion causes a lot of fights and wars and controversy. A lot of the strict religious girls I know are the ones who go behind your back and talk about you and treat you like a lesser being. I knwo that's not what religion is all about. This one strict religious girl was making fun of this overweight girl at the pool because she couldn't fit into the float. If that what religion is now a days then I don't want to be a part of it.

I was told I was supposed to be baptized Christian, but it never came to that. My mother is Mormon, but she didn't force religion on me, she told me to make my own choices. I went to step-dads Buddist temples (pretty interesting) when I was little, and went to Christian churches with my grandmother too. Now I sometimes join my guy to Catholic church, and its all different how people celebrate the life, or death of Jesus, and take interest in God. In highschool I went to Mormon Church with friends, and was constantly told I should be baptized Mormon. ( but no sex, and alcohol so it wouldn't have worked) I think religion should be something that you really believe in, not just join, so I'm staying neutral. I do believe that Jesus walked, and all the places that he's been too, but Its gotten to the point, where I should just make my own smart and dumb choices.

So I'm pretty much confused, but I can live with that :)

My parents say they're Christian but they're not really. They don't practice it.

I am strongly atheist. I know it's highly intolerant of me, but I think religion is ridiculous. I just can't BE tolerant of it. I don't understand HOW people can believe in it.

im a christian and I've been raised that way and at first lutheran. I know a lot about different religions and nothing compares to christianity. I believe the Jesus died for my sins and rose again so that I don't have to go to hell. I've seen God work in my life and other peoples lives. evidence is all around. I don't feel as though its a religion, but rather a relationship. I believe in God as Creator.i've been to so many beautiful places that it only shows how it had to have been Him who created them. science has been proven wrong and God never is. also other religions have been proven wrong, but nothing has ever been able to prove my beliefs wrong. things that the bible say will happen have happened. my eyes were opened even more so to that a couple weeks ago at this one meeting I went to.(I would explain but its kind of long) I love God and I'm so happy and proud of that.

When I was really little, I used to stay with my grandparents and they took me to Catholic church. When I went with my parents I went to Baptist church. Then we moved and I went to Catholic schools but attended Pentecostal Churches. Now I'm on my own and I'm back at Baptist Church.

I've never been baptized and I'm not really strict to the book. I consider myself a Christian but if someone really wanted a denomination I would say Baptist-Catholic. When I was little it was all about what my family wanted, my friends, my school etc.
But now I'm on my own and I believe in God for me, I chose too. The whole meaning of being a Christian that makes it different from other faiths is believing in Jesus Christ the son of God and that He died for your sins so that you may have eternal life.

It is easier for me to be a Christian because I was raised that way. I suppose if I was raised a Muslim I would still be a Muslim. If you were taught to believe (or not believe) something from a young age, I think it would be hard for you to turn your back on what you always thought to be true and change it - (Some people do change though). I'm happy I was raised a Christian.

I don't believe in my own religion, 100%. But I do have strong faith in God.
It's really hard to explain. A lot of people don't get it.
I have a strong relationship with God, and I believe what I feel. Not what I hear at Church and from people. I know I shouldnt be saying that. But that's just how it is for me.
Im Catholic. And I like it. One hour of sitting, standing, kneeling. Singing. - I couldn't do that for more than an hour.

I know a lot of people who get frustrated when they hear something they don't agree on regarding religion, but thats not me. I'm very open with different religions, and opinions.
I just can't stand some religions where they seem to totally brainwash/hypnotize people.
Like I said I have my own beliefs, and no one can change that, but Him.
