Exercise before you eat if you want to lose weight. This burns off what you have, especially if it's in the morning when there's not much in your stomach, so you can burn off anything that's excess. If you are just trying to keep up your exercise, then eat something small/light (yogurt is my personal favorite) before exercise, then you can eat something bigger/heavier afterwards.

EAT FIRST! Eat a lot. As a matter of fact go to an all-you-can-eat buffet and stuff yourself. Then go run a few miles right after eating for your exercise. That is the absolute best strategy for maintaining health or loosing weight.

You should exercise first, and if you can do it in the morning. My powerlifting coach would always have us workout then eat in the morning but if you can't workout in the morning you should still eat cause breakfast gives your metabolism a jump start for the rest of the day and my lifting coach is a smart man cause weve won the last four national titles in high school powerlifting so I recommend his advice.

You do both.

You need energy before you work out and you also need nutrients to replenish and help your body recover.

Now, to figure what you pre and post workout meal consist of is a whole new adventure :)

I've started a new gym regime.
Once a week, cardio training with my 2 best friends!

The other day I never ate at all as I was running late for the bus into town, so I started exercising on an empty stomach. Big mistake.

Started feeling dizzy and faint. Nearly died after 5 minutes on the treadmill - got off and told my friends I felt really sick! This was after half an hour. We had to leave early because my body couldn't cope.

The fact is, to put yourself through exercise your body needs food. You can't run a car without fuel. Same system.

both you need the energy from the food to make it through the work out but it you don't eat protein after all the muscle that you have just worked on building has been a waste in needs the nutrition to keep its growth

exercise first because it will make you hungry by doing and you find yourself eating twice as much

You have to exercise first then eat! Cause when you eat then exercise your stomach stretches out even more so your basically gaining weight not losing it! I suggest go to a nutrition that knows what he's talking about! But a lot of trainers told me to exercise as early as possible in the morning first then eat a little bit or a healthy breakfast!

If you're hungry, you should eat something light before you exercise (otherwise, you might feel sick while you're working out).

Evolution86 This is another reason why I eat after I work out. If I eat first, I end up feeling nauseous. - 5 months ago
Question Asker Makes perfect sense - 5 months ago
Answerer Really? I think it's normal for someone to feel nauseous if they eat something heavy before working out, but eating something light shouldn't be a big deal. I guess it depends on the person. - 5 months ago

Eat a small snack to boost your metabolism such as a cereal bar or what not. Stay hydrated. It also depends on what time you are working out at.

if your exercising in the morning you should eat first because your body has been fasting for hours while you were asleep. so eat something light that will give you energy like a bannana. if your going to exercise during the day then you can just exercise then eat. But there's a huge rule make sure you don't eat at least 2 hrs before you go to bed your bodys job when your sleep is to re energize not to have to digest food.

definitly exercise then eat if you eat before hand you have that plus anything else you ate to burn off which makes it harder if you eat after your metabolism is running fast so you will burn it off without any exercise. That's what my nutritionist told me anyway.
