Yep.
Unfortunately, many of them happen to be wrong as much or more than they're right. And your older ones are often mistranslated or hoaxes are created about them; take nostrodomis, and the whole "trade Center collapse." Or the predictions of Hitler's rise. Didn't happen the way people think.
Then there are strange occurances by non psychics. As rumor has it, someone wrote about the Titan, a ship that sunk. As I hear, it was written 12 years before the Titanic incident. It seemed like strange coincidences between the Titan and Titanic.
Sometimes I feel like it ends up becoming a self fullfilling prophecy. We believe it, so we're set up to act like it, and we end up making it happen.
One such story I'm reminded of is filled with a sense of irony. Hitler's power, it has been argued, happened, primarily because of a prediction by a Jewish mystic, hypnotist, Mentalist and Occultist by the name of Erik Jan Hanussen.
Hanussen had become known for being right about things. Part of that, it is argued was because he was well known and had a lot of inside information; He had important ties that made him sound more like he had more divine influence.
Of course, those who believe him to be the real deal would debate this till the end of time, but I digress.
Two big events catapulted him to fame. He predicted the Reichstag fire, and some argue that he predicted Hitler's rise to full power, which helped the newly appointed chancellor Hitler be seize absolute power. So the issue that arises is: was he psychic, or did people believe in Hanussen so much that they allowed things to happen because "fate was doing it anyway?" Hitler began consulting with Hanussen in 1932. For a short time, he was able to hide his ancestry, and was a consultant with Hitler over things both occult and psychological.
Ironically, Hanussen, a long time Nazi supporter, was killed by the Gestapo by March of 1933; partially because of his Jewish heritage, partly because he probably knew too much information, and possily because he was owed money by a lot of "important people" in the Nazi party.
There are many stories of Royalty or people of influence and power being influenced by consulting with psychics. Most recently and well known, the Reagans were big on doing this (research Joan Quigley), though many people in Reagan's administration, including former Reagan chief of staff Donald Regan, disagree on her level of influence.
Hope some of this helps you. If you need more information, let me know, as I can give you plenty more (through work I have plenty of research on this history and theories behind psychics).
