So I've been seeing this girl for just over a month. Her old boyfriend and her went out for 4 years, took a 7 month break, then me and her got together. I am a mutual friend of both of theirs, more so hers then his. So recently out of no where, even though things have been great and we haven't fought, she asks for space. I didn't know what this meant, as I couldn't figure out why. So she said give me 2-3 days. After giving that time, she still won't answer my calls or respond in anyway. Everything I've read tells me this is over, but I can't understand how or why. She told me a lot of great things of how much she liked me and what not, and so much talk of us being together in the future. I know her old boyfriend isn't over her, but I just want to talk to her and find out what she's thinking. Do I give her even more space and let her slip away, or fight for her and risk overdoing it and making her angry. Please help.

Update: Thanks for all the responses, it really helps. I messaged her after giving her the 2-3 days of space, saying that I wouldn't keep calling her because I didn't want to keep bugging her. And that she could call me when she was ready, was that a smart move?    5 months ago

Don't keep calling if she is ignoring you, there is a reason for it. Honestly, it's probably not good-but you have tried to call, etc. She knows you are there waiting and if she doesn't have the courtesy to tell you anything-move on. Even when I am so pissed at my boyfriend that I tell him I never want to talk to him again-I break done and call or at least text him. If she can't even tell you why she needed space or return communication in some way, why would she be worth fighting for? My advice is to let her go!

She could still have feelings for her ex and now she is having feelings for you which scare her. 4 years is a long time to be with someone and to just move on so maybe she is trying to distance herself from you to figure out what she really wants in her life. I would say give her some more time and space because if you push it she might just cut you loose altogether. I am going through something similar, my ex and I broke up at the end of January and I met someone but I am keeping him at arms length because my heart still hurts for my ex. I have also learned ( from my ex who said he needed space) that if you push communication and not respect their wishes, they will rebel and drift further away.

NotSoBad Wow I think this might have happened to me. But the girl wouldn't even let me know she was confused. I haven't talked to her we kind of broke up on bad terms and I know I should move on but for some odd reason I really miss her. - 5 months ago

You never know why, but if you push her about it, you will only push her away! trust me on this! the only thing you can do is respect her space. if she isn't returning your calls, stop calling. act indifferent. maybe date others, I said date, not sleep with. have fun and try to enjoy the company of others, this is really all you can do until she is ready to talk, she will let you know when that is! best of luck

Advice: How To Break Up The Right Way
Does it ever annoy you that you're single?
random-ren asked 21 days ago

Yes, most of the time! I really wish I had a boyfriend/girlfriend!

A little, because I feel left out.

Not really...

Nope! I have too much fun being single!

What's there to be annoyed about?

What is your favorite outfit for a night out with friends?
A pair of high heels, something that shows off my legs like a little skirt or demin hotpants. And just a nice colourful blouse with a coverup if there is too much skin on show.

How do you style your hair and do your make-up?
My hair's curly to it's usually just back in a messy pony tail with a straight side fringe but once in a while I do straighten all of my hair and have it out.
My face and lips are always natural, but I tend to be bold with my eyemake up by either having it really dark, or experimenting with lots of different and bright colours.

Do I have style?
