Why do women hate to be friends with guys they broke up with?

I think you can only be friends with an ex if the breakup was mutual and there are no feelings between either party. You can't have a one sided friendship, and if the girl is the one who broke up with the guy, she could feel he still has feelings for him and doesn't want to keep hurting him. I am still friends with a few of my exes but none that I was in love with because I feel once you truly love someone, it's hard to see them as just a friend. Some people try to use the whole " friend" thing to still be apart of their exes life, in hopes they would reconsider the breakup, but I think that's a bad idea because it just prolongs the hurting.

I've personally tried the whole friends after break up thing.. it didn't work out. When you are friends, lots of feelings are still there and it makes things a little awkward. I don't hate it but its really hard. Some people wanna be friends afterward so when they do see each other its not like a death stare or anything.

I don't think that is true me and all my friends are friends with are exs why shouldn't we be? Yeah there are at least 1 ex were not friends with my reason would be because I wouldn't want to fall for my ex again and get hurt all over again but generally I'm friends with all my exs
