I heard somewhere that men prefer dogs, and women prefer cats. I never thought that there was really any correlation between the two, but personally, I'm partial to dogs (specifically Dobermans) although I do "appreciate" cats. What is your preference if any -- and do you think that men and women are biased towards one or the other?
I really don't like cats at all. Kittens are cute, but then they grow up. I prefer dogs. They're pack animals, unlike cats, so they tend to be more playful. And you can have a bunch of dogs without everyone thinking you're crazy ha
I suppose I'm more of a cat person but I think that's because I have always had them as pets since I was a kid. I really like dogs as well tho and when I have my own place would like to have both a cat and a dog.
I like both, but I'm more partial to cats. They seem to be more cuddly and affectionate. When my cat passed away 2 years ago it was like losing a family member and it still hurts that he is gone. However I definitely appreciate the playful fun loving side of dogs! I have a Siberian husky now and he is so much fun!
Well yes . I'm more of a cat person . I LOVE cats . I don't know why, I have a black one ! The one Belleza seems to have as her icon . Hmmm . I wonder whose cat that is ? LOL yes some woman and men are biased towards one another, no specific relation but for me . Seems to be naturally weird at some point .
I love love love dogs. I have 3; two Siberian Huskies and one Belgian Malinois. I also have two cats. I like both, I'm just more drawn to dogs. I do think that most women are more inclined to have a cat as a pet. Cats basically care for themselves, don't tend to destroy your house or belongings and they make you work for their affection; all traits that women seem to enjoy. Maybe I'm odd, but give me a dog any day over a cat!
I'm an animal lover and I think that both are adorable and make great pets. I've grown up with cats but now my boyfriend and I have a 6 month old Jack Russell Terrier and I wouldn't trade her for the world! Generally speaking, I think most men prefer dogs because they're more active and easier to gain their affection. Women may prefer cats because you have to work a little more to earn a cat's affection and women love a challenge(hence dating the not-so-nice guys) That's my take on it anyways. Who knows for sure lol
I prefer cats, but I wish they didn't have to shed so much. Their fur gets all over my clothes and furniture and rugs, and its the worst thing to try and get off!
I prefer cats. I'm a graphic designer, and it seems to me that people in creative fields generally prefer cats. I think its because cats are all knowing. Yes-cats only come to you when it suits them, but that's the whole point. Dog owners just don't "get" what cats are about at all. Go to YouTube and do a search for "Wake Up Cat". It's a short piece of animation that will crack you up!
I am sooo much more a dog person! Cats just sit around and only come to you when they want something from you! Plus I have the cutest beagle around! Lol
I like ferrets? well I love all animals, that's why I'm into animal rights. If I could I'd snatch the baby harp seal that's in my icon but she's so much more beautiful where she lives. I love seeing animals in their natural environment.
As far as dogs and cats go I have a cat and I love her to pieces. I've grown up with dogs so it's new to have cats but they're a lot easier to manage in an apartment setting than dogs. I want ferrets in the future and cats are supposed to be their best compatible play mate as far as other pets go.

I love cats and dogs in different ways. If I were living by myself or with flatmates, I'd want a cat. Cats are independent and sassy, and I like their attitude. Also, cats are better suited to apartment life than dogs, and since I will probably be living in an apartment until I am ready to marry and start a family, a dog wouldn't really be a viable option.
However, if I was moving into a house with a husband and starting a family, I'd want us to have a dog. Dogs tend to be better with kids than cats are and are just more fun for kids. I grew up with a dog and I know how fun they can be! So, right now I'd prefer a cat, but later in life I'll probably want a dog. I love both tremendously! But I have noticed that men tend to prefer dogs over cats. I don't think women are biased towards cats though...after all, just try taking a puppy to the park and see how much attention you get from the ladies! :)
