I've been seeing a guy( but I've known him since elementary school), mostly just dates. We been intimate 2x over a period of a 1 1/2 months. We go to the movies, Starbucks, bowling, and stuff like that. Well once I called him like twice and he never answered or returned my calls which was unlike him. He didn't call for like 3 or days and all of a sudden he calls. So I asked him if he was on some kind of isolation vacation and he told me that he was backing off because he needed some space from me. It had nothing to do with me, but all he could think about was sex with me and he wanted it to be more than that. That he enjoyed sex with me and if he would have been around then that is what he would have wanted so he stayed away. Then we started conversing again on the phone and agreed to go to a play at the local high school. He assured me that he would be by to pick me up at 7 and never showed up. I tried calling. No answer. He calls me a 9 and I asked if he had a reason why he couldn't have called and said he wasn't coming he said no, not really. So I explained to him that I'm not the girl who flips out, but I think that he should have at least been considerate enough to say I'm not coming. There was silence on the phone for about 2min and then he says "I'll call you back". He hasn't called back since. What should I do? Give him his space, just forget about the whole thing, or try to find out what's really going on.
I think that it is time for you to move on. If he can not even give you some respect and call you to tell you that he is not coming, imagine what it is going to be like in a few months. He doesn't sound like he wants to continue the relationship. He is backing off because he doesn't know how to tell you that it isn't going to work.
I see two possibilities. Either he really is so attracted to you that he cannot reconcile being in your company and continuing a relationship (maybe even friendship? ) with you unless the two of you become lovers. Or.
Maybe he's found another girl who is beginning to become his lover and he doesn't know how to tell you? Just an idea.
