If you want to instigate it, lean back against him the next time you are both standing around. Mention to him later that you really enjoyed it and he should hopefully pick up the hint and surprise you in the future and do it.
I believe that communication will usually do the trick so just tell him you like that very much and give him hints that you really like it and when he does it tell him how much you like it until he learns and starts doing that on its own
When I want my boyfriend to hug me around the hips I hug around his neck. When I want him to hug me from behind I just stand with my back too him wrap his arms around me & stand there. Then again I have a very strong connection with my boyfriend.maybe yours just isn't there yet.
Go give him a hug and lock your hands around his neck hold it there for a couple of seconds. Then slide your hands down his chest and find his hands. While slowly twisting help him wrap his arms around you in whatever position you want. Lean into him and rock gently if you want. Enjoy:)

Describe your ideal first date; Where do you go? What do you wear? How does the date end?
My ideal date would be for me and my the guy to go to a huge carnival...we would ride roller coasters, of course we would do the ferris wheel, we would stay out late, and grab a hamburger. I would definitely wear some cute jeans and a cute sweatshirt.. after the carnival closes at like 11 or 12 we would go back to mine or his house and watch any movie and cuddle and I would fall asleep in his arms.
Afterwards..what will your date know about you?
That I'm very fun, I have a great appetite. I love thrill rides and scary movies.. he would also know I'm not afraid to show how I feel. and how cute I was when I fell asleep.. I hope.
