There is this woman that I am very very interested in. The problem is I am hesitant in pursuing her because I am somewhat intimidated by her and I want to know if she likes me before I make a push.
She is 28 years old, I am 25. We used to work for the same company but she recently left the company and now works for a vendor of the company. So she visits the office about once a week. She engaged in our first conversation by introducing herself. Every time we would she each other she would smile and say hi. We had a few conversations not longer than 30 seconds which she initiated.
Since she left the company I e-mailed her to congratulate her. This led to us having a 5min conversation the next time she came to my office. I e-mailed her later suggesting that I would like to get to know more about something she told me about herself. She then suggested we do lunch. We did and it went well. She laughed a lot a lot and conversation was flowing well. After lunch I walk her to her car and we hugged. She gave me a extra squeeze. Then I expressed to her that I really enjoyed lunch and that I would like to do it again sometime she kinda of smile and shook her head in agreement. I was hoping she you say something like "yes we should definitely do it again. "
What do you think? Does she like me? Would a woman even engage in conversation with someone that she is not interested in. Would she agree to lunch? Would she hug me if she was not interested? I know some people are just really friendly and like to meet people just to meet people. I really wish I knew because this woman is top notch.
I am somewhat intimidated because she is 2nd to none in beauty, makes more money than me and I can tell she is very picky, as she should be. She seem like the type that if you mess up once your done. But with that said I have also been told by many woman that I am a tier one guy myself. But I just feel like I am a work in progress while she is more established and knows exactly what she wants.

Yes definitely. She was probably a little overwhelmed when you said that you guys should go out again so that is perhaps why she didn't verbalize anything. But, she did nod her head in agreement (and if she smiled. Well even better). Sounds like you two had a really great time. She would be crazy not to call you or email you again. Do not be overly eager to contact her. Give it at least a couple of days and then let her know that you had a great time and would like to see her again when she gets the chance. The e-mail doesn't have to be overly descriptive. It's just a simple request to see her again. I would opt for a second lunch date as well. Dinner is bit too soon. If anything you can always mention that you wanted an update on how her job was going etc. Etc. You have already started out on a positive note. The only reason she may consider a second date request is that she maybe seeing someone else. That is the only thing I can think of. I hope you nab this beauty. Good luck :)
One step at a time. Sounds like lunch went well. So try asking her out for dinner, and see what she says. She won't be insulted by the invitation, so go for it. If she says no, just back off for a little bit, and see whether she continues to smile at you when she visits the office. But one caution -- since she works for a vendor to your company, there may be some issues about you two getting involved. If she's as intelligent and classy as you say, she may and perhaps should be sensitive to that (and maybe you should be, too. ) Good luck!
Thanks for responding. She came to the office to day and stopped by my desk and we had a good conversation. When she left she sent me and e-mail which led to me asking her out to lunch again. If felt a little soon for dinner. She agreed and we have a date set for later in the week.
I understand your concern about work issue. But in this case a relationship between her and I could not affect the companies we work for in anyway. Hard to explain but this situation is an exception to the rule. - 3 months ago
