Would a guy say "you are a really special person to me" if he did not mean it? What do you think he meant by that? We are not dating but good friends and a little more than that.
I would never say that if I didn't mean it, I'm always honest with people so if I said that I would be wanting a little more than just friends, but not all guys probably feel the same way, but if I say something that want my friend to know about I mean that, so I hope I helped you out some how! Hmmm that is a tough one. Sometimes when a guy says that. He really means he doesn't see that relationship going any further. But wants you to know that he cares. In some ways it can be a bit of a cop out.
I guess sometimes it can be a good thing, but from my experience usually its because they are trying to avoid something else.
All of it depends on the context of the situation though

It would be a very laid back date to just become friends and get to know each other. Maybe do a picnic or go out to eat, go to a museum, or go swinging at a park, or just walk around. No movie, since there isn't any interaction. I'd wear nice jeans and a nice shirt.
The date would end with me walking her back to her car or house, and end with a hug. No kiss on the first date, sorry
Afterwards..what will your date know about you?
She will know about what I do, who I am, what I'm looking for in a girl, and in a relationship. She will know some of my interests and hobbies that I enjoy doing.
