If a woman has a boyfriend who buys her expensive gifts, should she buy him expensive gifts also? Is it okay for women to accept expensive gifts from their boyfriends, but not buying gifts AS expensive? Or would the man think she is cheap?

Hey, don't get caught up in lame dating rules, sometimes people make things more complicated than they really have to be.

Think about the main goal of the relationship: getting what you want out of the relationship and giving him what he wants so you are both satisfied.

If he understands what you want and is giving you what you want in the relationship, give him what he wants. Whatever your judgment thinks you can afford to give and would make him happy.

If you're dating, guys shouldn't buy EXPENSIVE gifts. When you're dating, you should buy thoughtful, romantic, and personal gifts, but not expensive gifts. Guys that buy expensive gifts, are almost trying to buy love from the girl. I did this with a cpl of my girlfriends. Of course I cared about them, and I wanted to show how much I cared, but you can do it in other ways then spending lots of money. Spending lots of money should be reserved for when you're married. But no, women shouldn't' buy expensive gifts either. As far as accepting them, I would try not to, because then he will get in the habit of buying more. Tell him that it was very thoughtful, and you love it, but you'd rather have something not as expensive.

I believe that if a man and a woman were in a long term relationship and has mutual respect for one another that the whole, is this representing something it's not should not be an issue. So long as she is not buying him things at an excessive amount, I don't think it is a bad ting. But, if it becomes too much, she is appearing to be insecure and attempting to buy his love to assure herself that he will stick around. Even if that may not be the case, in my experience, that is how a man will see it and then start to treat her differently! PIGS! LOL!

Personally, my boyfriend doesn't care what I get him, expensive or not. He just loves whatever I get him. But guys mostly fall for a home cooked meal for just two, or even a home made card. They wouldn't think the women are cheap, because the gentlemen are supposed to be the ones going "all-out" on the women, you know?
